Question 1

How do I add a shadow to a screenshot?

Accepted Answer

Drop it in and set the shadow size. The canvas is enlarged to make room, so the shadow is never clipped at the edges — which is the usual problem when adding one by hand.

Question 2

Can I keep the background transparent?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Leave the background unset and download as PNG; the shadow is stored in the alpha channel and will blend over whatever you place it on.
